This chest ascender from ABC is designed for use in a Frog Climbing System with a 2-point caving seat harness and a "half round" maillon rapide link. It is used for climbing a fixed rope in conjunction with a handled rope clamp/grab. It can also be used in a Double Bungie Ropewalker system for the foot ascender.
It can be easily installed onto the rope with one hand by using the large chrome thumb catch. The chrome plated steel cam has inclined teeth to provide good grip on wet, icy and muddy ropes and has self cleaning holes to remove mud and ice from the rope while climbing.
Very similar to the Petzl Croll, slightly smaller and easier to open and close.
Use with 8-13mm rope.
