Jeff Facer is a Rope Rescue Consultant located in central Illinois.  He has over 10 years experience in Rescues and teaching Rescue Rigging courses throughout the United States.

Jeff enjoys working and learning in the vertical realm.  “The best part about teaching is that I always learn something new - a different way to explain an idea.  Students are creative, and I love seeing their eyes light up when they understand a critical rescue concept.”

Jeff’s interest in ropes began at the age of 44 when he was first introduced to vertical caving. This interest quickly expanded into an overwhelming passion. That passion has taken him from the canyons of Utah to the deepest pits in TAG to the New River Bridge in West Virginia.

While his wife does not advocate this, Jeff cut a hole in their 16-foot vaulted living room ceiling and rigged a rescue pulley.  Now he builds Mechanical Advantage systems and ascends/descends ropes from the comfort of his living room!  Much to his wife's dismay!

He currently teaches Basic Vertical classes in Tennessee as well as NFPA Level I and Level II classes throughout the country.

Jeff enjoys teaching, vertical caving, mountain biking, and SCUBA diving in the Caribbean.  He has been a pilot since age 16 and a snow ski instructor for many years.
